FAA Engineering Brief: Safer Taxiways and Aprons

FAA has released Engineering Brief No. 75: Incorporation of Runway Incursion Prevention into Taxiway and Apron Design. The 19-page .PDF “provides interim guidance” on designing taxiway and apron improvements with the goal of minimizing runway incursions. The guidance will be worked into the new AC 150/5300-13, “Airport Design,” which is being re-written.

NTSB Expands Runway Safety Improvement Call
